Many people know about the National Basketball Association, where the big boys play. But the Reading Basketball Association at Highlands Elementary School in Wilmington aims at the smaller set, using the well-loved sport to get students there to run their eyes over the pages of a book as readily as they would run up and down the court.

Congrats Principal Farr. What a great way to incorporate learning and enjoying reading while also giving the kids the advantages and love of sports particularly basketball at your school. Great innovative thinking on your part.
Mr. Farr is a fantastic principal. So glad to call him ours!!
This was a great story about a great program at a great school. Both of my kids went to Highlands in the 90's. It was a lovely school then, and has worked hard to maintain this status quo. My boys still talk about their favorite teachers from Highlands.
