Delmar DustPan: A Day In The Garden
I created this blog so I could continue to provide a place where people could discuss educational issues freely.
My name is Kim Williams and I am a parent with two children in a Red Clay school and I was elected to the Red Clay School Board this year. I started a blog called Fix Red Clay about 1 1/2 years ago with another parent, Anne O'Malia. Anne decided it was time to move on and I wanted to continue, so I started Red Clay Now.
I hope you will continue to visit this site. I welcome any ideas or suggestions.
You can email me at redclaynow@comcast.net.

If you watch this video, you won't believe what takes place. These are the politicians of the Texas school board debating on Texas textbooks and want is going to be taught to students from these books not only in Texas but across our country. What probably will be passed in the final vote in May will definitely impact what are children will learn which in some instances is total untruth, inserting the board"s views on subjects which they have no expertise in, and basically changing the history of our country. I cannot believe they want to take out all references to Thomas Jefferson. Just because Texas doesn't have to conform with federal guidelines in education doesn't mean they can impact the rest of the country"s education. It all boils down to Texas being such a huge state, whatever books they want and have published affects the rest of the country because of the publishers controlling where other states get their books. The only people who can correct this is the federal DOE with guidelines and intervention.
